Erica Irlbeck is a professor, writer, agricultural advocate, video producer, podcast host, researcher, consultant, Red Raider, Cowboy, wanna-be gardener, t.v. lover, and average cook.
She is the author of The Crisis Communications Guide for Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources. Available now through Xanadu Publishing and at this link.
A former television and farm broadcaster, she builds on her experience and research to teach Texas Tech agricultural communications students in the areas of risk and crisis communications, video production, and communications campaigns.
Irlbeck is interested in conducting research to help agricultural communicators communicate before and during crises. She also enjoys any study that involves promoting the industry through video.
She consults on risk assessments and crisis plans, and still enjoys the challenge of producing videos. Erica is married to Scott, a wheat and sorghum producer in Swisher County, Texas and mom to Jett, a very curious and smart little boy that is fascinated with airplanes, expensive cars, vacations to exotic locations (that he only dreams of taking), chess, swimming, and natural disasters. He’s a very active 4-H member.
